We have holidays dedicated to everything from groundhogs to consumption (I’m looking at you Black Friday), so it only seems right that Planet Earth should get one too!

The reason I love Earth Day so much is because I am the happiest when I am outside – enjoying the many gifts of this beautiful planet… surfing in the Pacific Ocean, biking in the mountains, camping in the forest, exploring the beach at low tide.

And I like to celebrate things that make me happy!

This picture is of my husband Rick and me after a surf in Oceanside at sunset (my favorite time of day to surf!!)

On Earth Day, everyone seems to be rolling out the green carpet.

Instead of just one day of honoring our home planet, there are lots of easy and fun ways to celebrate Earth Day that can actually make a difference all year long.

While I could list LOTS of Earth-friendly ideas here (and most likely bore you into a coma),

I have one simple request from you…

Skip the single use plastic!
91% OF PLASTICS ARE NOT RECYCLED.
79% OF PLASTIC CREATED STILL EXISTS IN OUR ENVIRONMENT.
EVERY MINUTE, ONE GARBAGE TRUCK OF PLASTICS ENTERS OUR OCEANS.

THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM FOR OUR WILDLIFE, OUR OCEANS AND OUR ENVIRONMENT

It can be overwhelming to think about, right?!! So what can YOU do, right this minute to help turn the tide on our plastic addiction?

Replace these most common single-use plastic offenders with eco alternatives:

Thank you friend!!

A big fat tree hug from me to you xoxo
