Family portrait (and video!) session | Hopkins Family | Marcy Browe Photography
Meet the awesome Hopkins Family! I photographed the Hopkins a few years ago, and we met up again to update their photos. And it was so fun to spend time this crew again!
I love including video of the kids as part of a family photo shoot. They change so fast at this age and getting them on video is always a great way to capture this little moment in time. As you can see, the Hopkins kids are not shy! I love their dance moves — don’t you agree?
We met at the Orcutt Ranch in West Hills, Los Angeles. This land was originally was the vacation estate of William Warren Orcutt, an early pioneer of oil production in California and the discoverer of the first prehistoric skeletons at the La Brea Tar Pits. This property has acres of beautiful trees, including citrus groves and centuries old oak trees. So we had a lot of fun playing in, on and around the trees. Five year old Siena even attempted to make hand-squeezed lemonade — which basically resulted in icky sticky hands!!
Even though it was over 100 degrees the day we took these photos, everyone was in great spirits and happy to be there.
Allen and Kim have clearly done something right in the parenting department because their three kids Sydney (age 14), Santiago (age 12), and Siena (age 5) are personable, sweet, and silly. And most impressively, the kids are all kind to each other — and to their parents.
I think the special relationship that this family shares comes through in their photos.
Below are some of my favorite images from our session. Enjoy!
