“Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Humpty, pronounced with an Umpty…”
Sorry I couldn’t help myself! Whenever I see social media posts that start with “allow me to introduce myself…” I immediately begin singing the Humpty Dance song. I was a teenager in the 90’s. What do you expect!?!
For my introduction? If I haven’t met you in person or if it’s been a while, here goes:
My name is Marcy Browe (pronounced “bro”). I make my living as a branding photographer. This profession was born out of a long career in marketing and advertising, coupled with a life-long fascination with photography.
I was raised in a photographic family. My grandfather made his living as a photographer too. I grew up peeking into his dark room and looking at his photos on the walls of my familys’ homes.
I was raised in the beautiful state of Vermont and moved to NJ as a teen. As soon as I was adult enough to live on my own, I moved to Boston where I got serious about my photography hobby. When I wasn’t working, I would grab my film camera and strap on my Rollerblades and explore the city. It was the late 90s, Rollerblading was all the rage and digital photography was still years from being commercially available.
Before I became a professional photographer, I used my degree in Advertising to land a job in the hot new “dot com” market. I worked in the booming tech scene in Boston and then moved to California.
Over the years, I developed a love for surfing, camping, biking and yoga. I reconnected with my high school boyfriend from NJ, who had moved to California too. Rick and I married in 2016 and we live in Oceanside, CA. Together we travel extensively each summer and soak up the Cali lifestyle every chance we get.
As a lover of all things outdoors, being a steward for the environment is very important to me. That’s why I’ve established my photo studio as a green business. You can learn more about that on my website!
Ok, now that my introduction is over, let me get back to the Humpty Dance…
Stop whatcha doin’
‘Cause I’m about to ruin
The image and the style that ya used to
I look funny
But yo I’m makin’ money, see
So yo world I hope you’re ready for me!
