I always love photographing families, but THIS family was extra special for me!!

I’ve known Cara for many years, we used to work together at TV Guide. Cara and her husband Jim live in Tulsa, Oklahoma but she reached out to me for family photos when they were visiting their sons in California for Thanksgiving. And they have a new grandson, so it was definitely the prefect time to document their growing family.

Cara is a photographer as well, but she’s hardly ever IN the family photos so this was even more special for me because I got to capture her on the other side of the lens.

I first met Cara back in 2005. I was working in the TV Guide office in Boston and she was working in the Tulsa office. We collaborated a lot throughout our careers. We worked in corporate marketing for the digital TV Guide that is embedded in cable and satellite systems. And eventually we both migrated to the Ad Sales department. She’s managing the whole Ad Operations team now! (She’s kind of a big deal, but she’s too modest to tell you that herself)

I always had a special place in my heart for her, because not only is she one of the kindest and most wonderful people, she’s also incredibly smart and able to manage an entire department with poise and grace. She’s just the kind of person that EVERYONE likes and respects.

Since I left the corporate world to take my photo business full time, I hadn’t seen Cara. So when she reached out about family photos, I was thrilled to meet the rest of the Hathaways! And of course I really liked each of them. No surprise!

Cara, I’m so happy for you and your expanding family. So glad we got to document your time together!!
