When Kim Collings, a San Diego realtor with Broom and Associates wanted to update her headshots – we knew exactly what we wanted to do to position her as a local expert. AND we knew we also had to get her dog Oliver in some of the shots.
Not only is Kim an expert on real estate in North County San Diego, she’s also an avid hiker and lover of the outdoors. Specifically, she loves to hike with her dog and she feels at home in nature. So we had a really fun time including those elements into her photoshoot.
Kim lives in the Fire Mountain neighborhood of Oceanside — the neighborhood San Diego Magazine recently dubbed “the Beverly Hills of Oceanside”. I find that to be a funny comparison (because I’ve been to Beverly Hills and seen the Lamborghinis and gated mansions) the point San Diego Magazine makes is it’s a desirable neighborhood with home prices way above the average in Oceanside. But while Beverly Hills has Rodeo Drive, Fire Mountain has an organic farm.
And Kim is way more Fire Mountain than she is Beverly Hills, so it was important to showcase that side of her personality along with her local expertise in her portraits. We did a mix of photos in front of a decorative door (at a home in Fire Mountain … gotta be authentic!!) and we also did portraits with her dog Oliver on some local hiking trails.
