So glad I finally got to photograph the Kuepper Family for La Costa Living Magazine. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Claudia and her daughter Delaney since I photographed Delaney for one of the first issues of the magazine. She was profiled as Athlete of the Month — she’s a rad stand up paddle surfer and a fearless ocean creature. And she’s only 12!

Aubrey and Claudia have encouraged Delaney to love the ocean – she is a Certified Paddle Board instructor, a junior lifeguard and a goalie for her water polo team.

The love of the ocean has clearly been passed down from Aubrey, who is a die-hard surfer and stand up paddler. The Cardiff Reef is his break of choice, and he told me that he is nicknamed the polar bear of Cardiff because he never wears a wet suit (burrrrr!!)

The family’s dog, a Rhodesian Ridgeback, Sahara is never far from her family members. She clearly is a well-loved animal.

Aubrey is the VP of Sales and Marketing at Cobian (casual footwear and beach sandals) — a perfect fit for his love of surfing and all things ocean. Claudia has always loved gardening and has turned that passion into a career in Landscape Design. Her house is a beautiful and loving dedication to this art. She has replaced her landscaping with low-water alternatives and has in impressive water control system installed.

I loved spending time with this family at their beautiful and inviting home. I felt like I was part of the family!!

Claudia picked some fresh veggies for me from her garden! Kale and spicy arugula and lettuce … yum!!!
