Congratulations to Keri and her team for making the Inc. 5000 list. This is not a pay to play kind of marketing tactic. This is a “real” list of the 5000 fastest growing companies in America. Holy crap how exciting!

This is proof that when you lean into your brilliance, magic happens.

I got to know Keri a few years ago when she moved to Carlsbad. We were set up on a “blind date” 🥰🥰 and immediately hit it off.

When you’re around Keri, you hear the honesty. She’s an open book. She’s not a salesy, pushy, aggressive person, and yet she’s been able to build her business like a powerful boss babe.

She’s running her business with feminine strength. She’ll tell you about the struggles and the wins. She’ll share about what it takes to build a big team, as well as when it’s time to scale down that big team, and focus on the core business. She shares as she learns. Keri doesn’t pretend that she has it all figured out instead she lets you in and you are taken along the journey with her.

In the world of coaching and on camera visibility, there is a lot of douchy, bro-y, hustle til it hurts energy, but Keri is a breath of fresh air.

She shows us that you can be spiritual and successful. You can make money while also lifting others up with you.

She has created a community of women that share the same mindset.

McKenzie has spent most of her career as a gemologist and museum curator for the Gemological Institute of America, THE institution that came up with the “4 C’s” (us diamond lovers know what this means!)

This week, 10 years ago I officially launched my photography business!! 🍾🥂✨✨✨

I’m humbled and delighted by every single person who allowed me to photograph them.

A huge shout out to my husband @rick_worthington for being on this journey with me. He’s seen all of the ups, the downs, the tears, the celebrations, and everything in between. He’s helped me move in (and out) of multiple photo studios.

I can’t wait to see what the next 10 years brings!! 💕💕

They called it a “dark room” back in the film

They called it a “dark room” back in the film days.

When it comes to working with unexposed film, the room needs to be 100% dark. Zero light coming in. Once the film is developed or made into negatives, you can use a red light for the remainder of the process. The red light allows you to see, while not ruining the light sensitive paper you print your photos on.

Now, with digital photography we don’t use dark rooms. We use LightRoom (see what Adobe did there, with that clever software name!!)

When I am color correcting and editing photos on my computer, I need it dark. A dark(ish) room helps me see the color and exposure properly.

Since I don’t love working in a dark cave my entire day, I outsource much of this work!!
